Okay..I say it....I am in a I-Love-Revlon-Phase presently because I am discovering a lot of products recently that were out for long. As long as back in 1951! And going in that path, I stumbled upon them. I was not even aware that people everywhere were going crazy about this. While I was ordering for a bunch of things from ebay, I asked even for this to the ebay seller. I asked for two shades but got only this one -
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Strain in 040 Rendezvous.
(the other one was a pink shade)
So, here is the review after a month of use.
From Revlon Website
It’s a pampering balm fused with a lightweight lipstain in an adorable chubby crayon. Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain gives softer, smoother lips with a perfect flush of color that lasts hour after hour. The gel formula comes in 12 vibrant shades that match any look or mood.
Lightweight Lipstain + Moisturizing Balm
-100% of women who tried it felt their lips were instantly moisturized with a soft stain of color
-Retractable chubby crayon, no sharpener required
EXPERT TIPS:
Step 1: Apply Just Bitten Kissable™ Balm Stain evenly to clean, bare lips. Build color and coverage as desired.
Step 2: Reapply as desired for moisturizing shine throughout the day.
Packaging
They look like the twin sister of Clinique Chubby Sticks. Don't believe? Have a look.
Comparing here full size Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain Rendezvous with Clinique Chubby Stick Oversized Orange (in the gift pack size)
Smell - The first thing your will notice beyond their crayon like twist up packaging is the smell. Its smell of something. I could hardly put a name to it but the next morning a big light went off - Toothpaste! It smell like mint toothpaste. Luckily the smell fades quickly.
Texture - The texture is smooth like a sheer lipstick but is opaque. Its moisturizing and balmy. It does feels like you have something on your lips when you wear it with full intensity.
Color Payoff - The best part about this lipsticks. Period. It last long - really long. And also leaves behind a tint when the glossiness wears off. An orange tint is really glamorous. At times, does not wears off unevenly. I see the outer part is strained but the inner part is worn off. Maybe this is issue won't be there for the pinker shades. Yes, I intent to buy a pink shade soon.
Swatch
Rendezvous is a orange with no pink/red undertones.
When I first applied it, I felt a bit uncomfortable with the color clashing my skin tone. Finally after using it for more than a month, I am used to it.
Sweet Points
- Last long
- More intense color at half the price for Clinique chubby sticks which I am comparing here just because they look same to same
- Leaves behind a tint (strains lips)
Bitter Points
- Does not wear off evenly at times
- Does not heal chapped lips (saying this just because it has the word BALM in it)
Price - 4$ in USA. 600 INR in India.
Overall - I loved them. I had no expectation and was not even aware of them but it made me happy. For something has cost me just 4$, it was great at every level. I am surely buying a pink color now because they will last even longer than orange.
